Deploying electric charging infrastructures

By combining our in-depth knowledge of the uses of electric charging infrastructures with our skills in data science and operational research, we have developed a decision support tool called EV Investment Simulator. This tool helps identify the best locations for installing electric charging infrastructures. It leverages on a massive collection of relevant data to model supply and demand in a region and implementation. We have used this solution to assist the city of Quebec in defining its deployment plan and a group of twenty municipalities in Wallonia.

Anticipating the impact of the democratization of electric vehicles on the electrical network

The increase in electric vehicles poses a significant challenge for power system operators. Therefore, being able to anticipate the impact these electric vehicles will have on the electrical network is a crucial issue. Heka.ai has developed a solution that simulates the resulting load curve for a given fleet of electric cars, based on a technique of overlaying the different uses. It is possible to configure various parameters such as the power and number of vehicles, the duration and frequency of charging for different types of fleets.

Evaluate the relevance of a Smart Charging solution

Implementing intelligent management systems with electric vehicle charging stations is a well-known approach at several levels: housing, buildings, neighborhoods, or professional fleets. Several strategies exist to carry out smart charging based on centralized or decentralized algorithms. Using asset-defined parameters and smart charging algorithms (linear optimization), technical and economic analysis of potential benefits and risks can be created as a decision support tool to help plan and organize the project.
